A couple of years ago now, we were lucky enough to stay at a 'beach house' that belonged to our friends Tony and Ruth every now and then.
We'd go in the holidays and enjoy the quietness and ocean views of Encounter Bay - which is about an hour's drive south from Adelaide.
Our days were filled with singing songs, playing chess, going down to the beach and playing in the sand.
An ode to good times.
lyrics
Let’s escape let’s get away
Let’s retreat to Encounter Bay
Pack the car and take the kids
Away from noise and city streets
Let’s reclaim some stolen time and quit the race
Once a year let’s go to our special place
Let’s play cards and let’s play chess
Sing our songs
Then sleep and rest
Build sand castles on the beach
And dream our life could be like this
Let’s reclaim some stolen time and quit the race
Once a year let’s go to our special place
